What is the VPSTF?

The Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund (VPSTF) serves as a financial support initiative designed to reimburse qualified tank owners for expenses related to the investigation and remediation of petroleum storage tank releases.  The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ) administers the fund.

Prior to conducting any onsite work, Appalachian Environmental will ensure your fund eligibility. We file all the necessary paperwork, thereby eliminating out-of-pocket expenses for our customers. Additional information regarding the VPSTF can be found here Reimbursement | Virginia DEQ and here: § 62.1-44.34:11. Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund

In some instances, your homeowner’s or business insurance may cover cost associated with petroleum leak and spill cleanups.  If this applies to you, we’ll assist you in working with your insurance carrier for any work we conduct; however, most homeowners insurance policies don’t cover petroleum cleanups in the state of Virginia.
